How Your Dentist Is Keeping You Safe During COVID-19

At Del Sur Dentistry we are taking every step we possibly can to protect you and your family during your next visit to our office.

Additional Office Precautions

We have always worn PPE like masks, glasses, and gloves. Now, we are also wearing face shields, gowns, and head coverings when necessary during patient appointments. We definitely look different during your appointment, but you will still get the same great dental care!

We have removed all magazines and items that can harbor or transfer germs of any kind. Sneeze guards or droplet barriers at the reception area have been installed. All patients, as well employees, are required to have a temperature check when arriving at our office.

We have invested in high-quality air purifiers in our office to remove most airborne particles, including viruses, which help provide patients and staff with cleaner, healthier air.

In addition, we are using shields over the patient treatment area to decrease aerosol splatter during patient care appointments. These help prevent the airborne spread of COVID-19 and similar infectious diseases.

Our team has always followed CDC, ADA, and OSHA protocols to clean and disinfect patient areas, but now we are enhancing our cleaning routines even further, wiping down and disinfecting all surfaces throughout the day and following other recommended best practices.

Our team is also wiping down and disinfecting commonly-touched surfaces like counters, chairs, tables, doorknobs, and bathrooms regularly to ensure your safety.

New Procedures For All Patients

All patients are required to complete a pre-screening questionnaire, which includes questions about symptoms you may have experienced within the last 14 days, such as loss of smell, fever, or respiratory issues that may indicate COVID-19 infection. We will also ask about your recent travel habits and whether or not you’ve been around someone who has been tested for COVID-19.

When you arrive at our office, we ask that you wear a face covering and come alone unless you require assistance getting in and out of our office, or you’re supervising a minor.

This helps us ensure proper social distancing, which is one of the best ways to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and other infectious diseases.

All patients will rinse with 1% hydrogen peroxide before any dental treatment. Hydrogen peroxide has been shown to be highly effective at killing COVID-19 coronavirus, so this helps protect your health and the health of our dental team members.
